ويُعد دخول الاتفاقية المتعلقة بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة، وذخائرها والمواد الأخرى ذات الصلة التي أبرمتها الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا، خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح.

By the adoption of the Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Their Ammunition, and Other Related Materials last June, States members of the Economic Community of West African States demonstrated their resolve to combat the spread of those arms and weapons in our subregion.
وباعتماد الاتفاقية المتعلقة بالأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة وذخائرها وغيرها من المواد ذات الصلة، أثبتت الدول الأعضاء في الجماعة الاقتصادية لغرب أفريقيا تصميمها على مكافحة انتشار هذه الأسلحة في منطقتنا دون الإقليمية.
