4. The official name of the current Constitution of the Cayman Islands is the " Caribbean and North Atlantic Territories, The Cayman Islands (Constitution) Order 1972 " , which was amended seven times, in 1984, 1987, 1992, 1993, 2003 and twice in 2004.

210. In this context, the Constitution establishes a form of positive discrimination by providing for the State to promote the balanced participation of citizens of both genders in political life (art. 54 of the current Constitution).

At this stage section 37 of the 2011 draft Federal Constitution maintains the provision on discrimination in section 15 of the current Constitution.
