27. In connection with working paper A/AC.105/C.2/L.192, the representative of ITU briefly described the legislative and treaty-making role of ITU with regard to the use of the geostationary orbit.

He emphasized that the efforts of ITU in this field were aimed at guaranteeing efficient and equitable use of the geostationary orbit in accordance, in particular, with article 33 of the ITU Convention.
