III. PRINCIPLES OF THE NEW GOVERNMENT POLICY 73. The policy of the Government of the Dominican Republic installed on 16 August 1996 is predicated on the principles of equity, justice and effectiveness, and on a market-driven socioeconomic approach that ensures an end to the exclusion and marginalization of social and population sectors, as well as the preservation of natural resources.
