1. At its fifty—third session, the Commission on Human Rights, in its resolution 1997/52 of 15 April 1997, invited Mr. Adama Dieng, independent expert to inform the General Assembly at its fifty—second session and the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty—fourth session about the development of the human rights situation in Haiti.
١- في الدورة الثالثة والخمسين دعت لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، في قرارها ٧٩٩١/٢٥ المؤرخ في ٥١ نيسان/أبريل ٧٩٩١، السيد أداما ديينغ، الخبير المستقل، إلى تقديم تقرير عن تطور حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في هايتي إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثانية والخمسين، وإلى لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين.

3. In its resolution 1996/58, the Commission on Human Rights requested the independent expert to report to the Commission at its fifty-third session on the development of the human rights situation in Haiti and on the initiation of the technical cooperation programme in the area of human rights.
٣- ورجت لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان في قرارها ٦٩٩١/٨٥ من الخبير المستقل أن يقدم إلى اللجنة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين تقريرا عن تطور حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في هايتي وعن تنفيذ برنامج التعاون التقني في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

66. The Special Rapporteur recommended that the international community should continue to keep abreast of the human rights situation in Haiti.
٦٦ - وأوصى المقرر الخاص بأن يبقى المجتمع الدولي باستمرار على علم بحالة حقوق اﻹنسان في هايتي.

This report, which supplements the previous one, represents an attempted update of the human rights situation in Haiti and makes a number of recommendations in the light of the most recent developments; it should therefore be read in conjunction with the report submitted to the General Assembly in November 1994.
ويحاول هذا التقرير، الذي يكمل التقرير السابق، تحديث حالة حقوق الانسان في هايتي وتقديم مجموعة من التوصيات على ضوء اﻷحداث الجديدة؛ وبالتالي ينبغي قراءته بمصاحبة التقرير المقدم الى الجمعية العامة في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ٤٩٩١.

Having in mind the report (E/CN.4/1996/94) of the independent expert, Mr. Adama Dieng, appointed to consider the development of the human rights situation in Haiti and to verify compliance by that country with its obligations in that field, and the recommendations contained therein,

In its resolution 1996/58, the Commission requested the independent expert Mr. Adama Dieng (Senegal) to report to the Commission at its fifty—third session on the development of the human rights situation in Haiti and on the initiation of the technical cooperation programme in the area of human rights.
٠٥١- طلبت اللجنة في قرارها ٦٩٩١/٨٥ الى الخبير المستقل السيد أداما ديينغ )السنغال( تقديم تقرير الى اللجنة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين عن تطور حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في هايتي وعن تنفيذ برنامج التعاون التقني في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

150. In its resolution 1997/52, the Commission invited the independent expert, Mr. Adama Dieng (Senegal), to inform the General Assembly at its fifty—second session and the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty—fourth session about the development of the human rights situation in Haiti.

Expresses its deep concern about the continuing worsening of the human rights situation in Haiti during 1993 and the resulting increase in violations of the human rights embodied in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, 98/ the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, 98/ the American Convention on Human Rights: " Pact of San José, Costa Rica " United Nations, Treaty Series, vol. 1144, No. 17955.
