She added that Resolution 6, adopted by the Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO at its 20th session (UNESCO, 2001), required Member States to notify the concerned Coastal States the deployment in the high seas of ARGO floats which might drift into their Economic Exclusive Zones.

The project on the sustainable management of the shared marine resources of the Caribbean large marine ecosystem and adjacent regions (2009-2014) is jointly managed by GEF, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Caribbean regional subsidiary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO-IOCARIBE).
