وإذ تأسف لرغبة اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية أن تتقدم بطلب ﻹنهاء عضويتها في الصندوق اعتبارا من ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨،

Regretting the wish of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization to apply for termination of its membership in the Fund effective 31 December 1998,
وإذ تأسف لما أبدته اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية من رغبتها في تقديم طلب ﻹنهاء عضويتها في الصندوق اعتبارا من ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨،

1. On 16 October 1998, the General Council of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Executive Committee of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization (ICITO) adopted decision WT/L/282 concerning the conditions of service applicable to the staff of the WTO secretariat.
١ - في ١٦ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٨، اتخذ المجلس العام لمنظمة التجارة العالمية واللجنة التنفيذية التابعة للجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية المقرر WT/L/282 المتعلق بشروط الخدمة المطبقة على موظفي أمانة منظمة التجارة العالمية.

By this resolution, the General Assembly, inter alia, approved the withdrawal from membership from the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization.
وبموجب هذا القرار ، وفي جملة أمور ، وافقت الجمعية العامة على انسحاب اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية من عضوية الصندوق المشترك للمعاشات التقاعدية لموظفي اﻷمم المتحدة .

It took note of the Board's conclusions on entitlement to survivors' benefits for spouses and former spouses, and of the possible withdrawal of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization/General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (ICITO/GATT) from membership in the Fund.
وقال إن الوفد أحاط علما بالاستنتاجات التي توصل إليها المجلس بشأن أحقية اﻷزواج واﻷزواج السابقين في استحقاقات الخلف، وباحتمال انسحاب اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة العالمية/مجموعة غات من عضوية الصندوق.

36. Paragraphs 284 to 300 of the Board's report deal with the possible withdrawal of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization/ General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (ICITO/GATT) from membership of the Fund.

3. Notes also that the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board, on the basis of the application of the methodology approved by the Board and agreed upon by the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization, has made a recommendation for the termination of the membership of the Interim Commission in the Fund, effective 31 December 1998;
٣ - تلاحظ أيضا أن مجلس الصندوق المشترك للمعاشات التقاعدية لموظفي اﻷمم المتحدة، استنادا إلى تطبيق المنهجية التي أقرها المجلس ووافقت عليها اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية، قد أصدر توصية بإنهاء عضوية اللجنة المؤقتة في الصندوق، اعتبارا من ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨؛

4. Draws the attention of the members of the World Trade Organization that a staff member of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization ceasing participation in the Fund will have the possibility of electing to receive a benefit from the Fund and, at the same time, accepting an offer of employment in the secretariat of the World Trade Organization;
٤ - توجه انتباه أعضاء منظمة التجارة العالمية إلى أن موظفي اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية الذين يتوقفون عن المشاركة في الصندوق سيتمتعون بإمكانية اختيار الجمع بين الحصول على استحقاق من الصندوق وقبول عرض بالعمل، في الوقت ذاته، في أمانة منظمة التجارة العالمية؛

5. Decides to terminate the membership of the Interim Commission in the Fund as at 31 December 1998 upon receipt by the Secretary of the Board of an unconditional written notification from the Director-General of the World Trade Organization to that effect, no later than 15 January 1999;
٥ - تقرر إنهاء عضوية اللجنة المؤقتة في الصندوق في ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨ لدى تلقي أمين المجلس إشعارا خطيا غير مشروط بهذا المعنى من المدير العام لمنظمة التجارة العالمية، في موعد غايته ١٥ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٩؛

" 1. Notes with concern the wishes of the Interim Commission for the International Trade Organization to apply for termination of its membership in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund effective 31 December 1998, in the light of the commitment of the General Assembly to preserve the United Nations common system of salaries and allowances;
١ - تحيط علما مع القلق برغبات اللجنة المؤقتة لمنظمة التجارة الدولية بتقديم طلب ﻹنهاء عضويتها في الصندوق المشترك للمعاشات التقاعدية لموظفي اﻷمم المتحدة اعتبارا من ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨، في ضوء التزام الجمعية العامة بالحفاظ على النظام الموحد لﻷمم المتحدة للمرتبات والبدلات؛

" 4. Decides to terminate the membership of the Interim Commission in the Fund as at 31 December 1998 upon receipt by the Secretary of the Board of an unconditional written notification from the Director-General of the World Trade Organization to that effect, no later than 15 January 1999;

Decides also that the termination of the membership of the Interim Commission is subject to receipt by the Secretary of the Board by 31 December 1998 of a written undertaking from the World Trade Organization that it will hold the Fund harmless from any and all claims against the Fund arising from or relating to the termination of the membership of the Interim Commission in the Fund;
٥ - تقرر أيضا أن إنهاء عضوية اللجنة المؤقتة، مرهون باستلام أمين الصندوق في ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨ لتعهد خطي من منظمة التجارة العالمية بأنها تعتبر الصندوق غير مسؤول عن جميع المطالبات تجاه الصندوق التي تنشأ من إنهاء عضوية اللجنة المؤقتة في الصندوق أو تتصل به؛
