The seventh global meeting of the regional seas programmes, which took place in Helsinki, Finland in October 2005, focused on sustainable financing mechanisms and provided a forum for sharing experiences for all the regional seas programmes, donors and other stakeholders on three levels of financing (the secretariats, programmes of work and national implementation).
