National holidays and symbols were recognized at the constitutive meeting of the Council in October 2009 according to the submitted requests by the national councils: the emblems, flags and holidays of the Macedonian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Ruthenian, Vlach, Greek and German national minorities, as well as the emblem and the flag of the Slovak National minority.

It noted that several treaty bodies had expressed concern about the limited mandate, independence and resources of the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights and continued stigmatization and discrimination against the Roma in education, housing, health and political participation.
وأشارت إلى أن هناك هيئات معاهدات عدة أعربت عن قلقها إزاء الولاية المحدودة للمركز الوطني السلوفاكي لحقوق الإنسان واستقلاليته وموارده، واستمرار الوصم والتمييز ضد الروما في مجالات التعليم والإسكان والصحة والمشاركة السياسية.

The Committee recommends that the State party amend its legislation in order to increase the scope and independence of the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights and to endow it with the financial and human resources it needs in order to function in full conformity with the Paris Principles.
توصي اللجنة الدولة الطرف بتعديل تشريعاتها من أجل توسيع نطاق اختصاصات واستقلال المركز الوطني السلوفاكي لحقوق الإنسان وتزويده بالموارد المالية والبشرية التي يحتاجها لأداء مهامه بما يتماشى تماماً مع مبادئ باريس.

The Committee recommends that the State party amend its legislation in order to increase the scope and independence of the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights and to endow it with the financial and human resources it needs in order to function in full conformity with the Paris Principles.

The promotion and protection against discrimination (whether through education, monitoring or provision of legal assistance) are the main activities of the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights (the Centre), the status and powers of which are defined by Act No. 308/1993 establishing the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights, as amended.
وتشجيع مكافحة التمييز والحماية منه (سواء عن طريق التعليم أو الرقابة أو توفير المساعدة القانونية) هو أهم الأنشطة التي يقوم بها المركز الوطني السلوفاكي لحقوق الإنسان (المركز) الذي ورد تعريف لوضعه وسلطاته في القانون رقم 308/1993 بصورته المعدلة وهو قانون إنشاء المركز الوطني السلوفاكي لحقوق الإنسان.

Law No. 165/1968 establishing a formal distinction between the (federal) Czechoslovak nationality and that of each of the two republics forming the Federation opened the way for the adoption by the two republics of their own laws on nationality: Law No. 206/68 of the Slovak National Council and Law No. 39/69 of the Czech National Council.
