The Chairman of the Commission for Social Development addressed the Commission for Population and Development in 1999. The Special Rapporteur of the Commission for Social Development on disability has also collaborated closely with the Commission on Human Rights in the preparation of his report on the implementation of the Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.

In light of the Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (General Assembly resolution 48/96, annex) and the recommendations adopted by the Committee at its day of general discussion on the rights of children with disabilities (CRC/C/69), it is recommended that the State party:
204- في ضوء القواعد النموذجية الخاصة بتحقيق المساواة في فرص المعوقين (قرار الجمعية العامة 48/96، المرفق) وتوصيات اللجنة المعتمدة في يوم المناقشة العامة الذي نظمته بشأن حقوق الأطفال المعوقين (CRC/C/69)، توصي اللجنة الدولة الطرف بما يلي:
