The two leaders underlined the fact that such a dialogue had to lead to the full implementation of the relevant provisions of the Taif Agreement and all Security Council resolutions related to the arms of Palestinian militias in Lebanon, albeit without confrontation between the Lebanese authorities and the Palestinian groups.

واليوم، وبعد انقضاء 25 سنة على توقيع اتفاق الطائف الذي أنهى الحرب الأهلية، أشجع القادة اللبنانيين من مختلف الانتماءات السياسية إلى أن يبذلوا كل ما في وسعهم من أجل حماية ما أُنجز منذ ذلك الحين، وعلى السعي إلى البناء على مبادئ التعايش السلمي التي يدعو إليها هذا الاتفاق.

Some of the opposition leaders preferred to review these relations in line with Security Council resolution 1559 (2004), while others preferred to review them under the banner of the Taif Agreement.
وفضل بعض قادة المعارضة استعراض هذه العلاقات بما يتفق مع قرار مجلس الأمن 1559 (2004)، بينما حبذ آخرون استعراضها في إطار اتفاق الطائف.

1. On the basis of the provisions of the Taif Agreement and article 4 of the Treaty of Brotherhood, Cooperation and Coordination signed on 22 June 1991 between the two countries, as well as on the basis of its commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and respect for the resolutions of international legitimacy, the Council has decided as follows:

وأكرر دعوتي لحزب الله ولجميع الأطراف المعنية إلى منع مقاتليها من القيام بأي نشاط داخل لبنان أو خارجه، تمشياً مع مقتضيات اتفاق الطائف وقرار مجلس الأمن 1559 (2004).

I call yet again upon the leaders of Hizbullah to immediately disarm and limit their activities to that of a Lebanese political party, consistent with the requirements of the Taif Agreement and resolution 1559 (2004).
وأدعو قادة حزب الله مرة أخرى إلى نزع سلاح الجماعة فورا وتقليص حجم أنشطتها إلى حد أنشطة حزب سياسي لبناني، وفقا للأحكام المنصوص عليها في اتفاق الطائف والقرار 1559 (2004).

We stress the significance of the full and strict implementation of the Taif Agreement by all parties concerned, and we also underline again the need for full implementation of Security Council resolution 425 (1978).
ونؤكد على أهمية التنفيذ الكامل والصارم لاتفاق الطائف من قبل كل اﻷطراف المعنية، كما نؤكد من جديد على الحاجة إلى التنفيذ الكامل لقرار مجلس اﻷمن ٥٢٤ )٨٧٩١(.
