IV. Focus areas 28. Information and communications technology in the United Nations Secretariat is focused on delivering positive results in three widely encompassing areas: (a) the sharing and dissemination of the Organization's institutional knowledge capital; (b) administrative and management processes; and (c) the servicing of the United Nations organs and governing bodies.

3. Progress achieved to date in the implementation of reforms related to information and communications technology has been concentrated in three main areas: (a) administrative and management processes; (b) knowledge-sharing; and (c) servicing of the United Nations organs and governing bodies.

The analysis of the existing capacity of the departments and offices involved in the servicing of conferences and meetings of the United Nations organs and of the level of resources established for the biennium 2002-2003 by resolutions 56/254 A, B and C indicated that the Organization did not have sufficient financial resources to maintain services for the conferences and meetings at the level of the previous biennium.

2. Welcomes the continuing efforts of the United Nations organs, agencies, funds and programmes to accord high priority to the issue of women and peace and security, and in this regard notes the role of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women) in promoting the implementation of all resolutions related to women in the context of peace and security;
