The Committee has undertaken a further assessment of the scope of its responsibilities under article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and has come to the conclusion that it is imperative that the Committee be provided, on a permanent basis, with the opportunity to hold three annual sessions, of three weeks each, and each preceded by a one-week session of a pre-session working group.

(a) To authorize the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, as a permanent measure from 2008 onwards, to hold three annual sessions of three weeks each, with a one-week pre-session working group for each session;
(أ) أن تأذن للجنة المعنية بالقضاء على التمييز ضد المرأة، كتدبير دائم اعتبارا من عام 2008 فصاعدا، بعقد ثلاث دورات سنويا، مدة كل منها ثلاثة أسابيع على أن يجتمع فريق عامل لما قبل الدورة لمدة أسبوع واحد قبل كل دورة؛

In the light of resolution 60/230, in which the General Assembly extended the Committee's meeting time and authorized it to hold three annual sessions of three weeks each in 2006 and 2007, as well as to meet in parallel working groups during its third annual session in 2006 and its first and third annual sessions in 2007, the number of reports submitted by States parties that await consideration has been significantly reduced.
39 - وفي ضوء القرار 60/230، الذي حددت به الجمعية العامة فترة انعقاد اجتماعات اللجنة، وأذنت لها بعقد ثلاث دورات سنويا مدة كل منها ثلاثة أسابيع في عامي 2006 و 2007 وبالاجتماع في أفرقة عاملة موازية خلال دورتها الثالثة في سنة 2006 وخلال دورتيها الأولى والثالثة في سنة 2007، انخفض عدد التقارير الواردة من الدول الأطراف التي تنتظر النظر فيها بشكل ملحوظ.
