The Secretary-General should intensify his efforts to improve the representation of women from developing countries in senior posts.
ومن الواجب على الأمين العام أن يضاعف جهوده لتحسين تمثيل المرأة من البلدان النامية بالوظائف العليا.

They urged the Secretary-General to redouble his efforts in that area, particularly with respect to the representation of women from developing countries, and to encourage Member States to submit more female candidates for posts in the categories concerned.

76. There had been some improvement in the area of gender balance. However, the slow pace of improvement in the representation of women from developing countries at senior level posts remained a source of concern; greater efforts should be made in that regard.
76 - وقال إنه قد أُحرز بعض التقدم فيما يتعلق بتحقيق التوازن بين الجنسين، ولكن بطء التقدم صوب زيادة تمثيل المرأة من البلدان النامية في وظائف الفئة العليا يدعو إلى القلق. ومن المهم للغاية مضاعفة الجهود المبذولة في ذلك الصدد.

" 40. Encourages the continuing efforts to improve the gender balance in appointments within the United Nations system at the headquarters and the country level in positions that affect operational activities with due regard to representation of women from developing countries and keeping in mind the principle of equitable geographic representation;

83. She welcomed the decision taken by the Economic and Social Council on the mainstreaming of a gender perspective in the United Nations system. However, she was disappointed that the representation of women at the D-1 level and above remained low, and that the representation of women from developing countries and CARICOM countries remained inadequate.
٨٣ - وأعربت عن ترحيبها بالقرار الذي اتخذه المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي بشأن مراعاة منظور نوع الجنـس في منظومة اﻷمم المتحـدة، غير أنها أعربت عن خيبـة أملها في أن تمثيل المرأة على مستوى الرتبة مد - ١ وما فوق ذلك لا يزال متدنيا، وأن تمثيل المرأة من البلدان النامية وبلدان الجماعة الكاريبية لا يزال غير كاف.
