The view was expressed that the activities of subprogramme 2 should lead to improvement of the status of women in the United Nations Secretariat by ensuring the upward mobility of women in the General Service staff category, irrespective of nationality, through the competitive examinations for promotion to the Professional category of staff members from other categories (“G to P exams”).
١٦٩ - وجرى اﻹعراب عن رأي مفاده أنه ينبغي أن تؤدي أنشطة البرنامج الفرعي ٢ إلى تحسين مركز المرأة في اﻷمانة العامة لﻷمم المتحدة عن طريق كفالة ترقي موظفات فئة الخدمات العامة بصرف النظر عن جنسيتهن، وذلك من خلال الامتحانات التنافسية لترقي موظفي الفئات اﻷخرى إلى الفئة الفنية.
