The Assembly was then briefed on the implementation of the CPA by H.E. Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, President of the Republic of the Sudan, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the First Vice-President of the Sudan and H.E. Thabo Mbeki, Chairperson of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel.

The meeting expressed its full solidarity with the Sudan under the leadership of President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir and stated its unflinching support for the various endeavours to achieve genuine national reconciliation, lasting peace and stability within the context of a sovereign and united country.

96. The Meeting urged the Security Council to suspend indefinitely the move by the Prosecutor directed against President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, and in this respect decided that the OIC should coordinate its efforts with the African Union, the League of Arab States, the Non- Aligned Movement and other political groupings to support steps in the UN and elsewhere aimed at defusing the dangerous situation and preventing its recurrence.
96 - وحث الاجتماع مجلس الأمن على أن يعلق نهائيا الطلب الذي تقدم به المدعي العام ضد الرئيس عمر حسن أحمد البشير، وقرر في هذا الصدد أنه يتعين على منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي أن تنسق جهودها مع الاتحاد الأفريقي ومع جامعة الدول العربية وحركة عدم الانحياز ومع غيرها من التجمعات السياسية لدعم ما يتخذ من خطوات في الأمم المتحدة وفي غيرها في سبيل تسوية هذا الوضع الخطير ومنع تكراره.
