The Council, in its decision 2005/247, entitled " Report of the Secretary-General on capital punishment and the safeguards guaranteeing protection of the rights of those facing the death penalty, " requested the Secretary-General to prepare additional quinquennial reports on the subject for the consideration of the Commission and, upon request, the Human Rights Council (as the successor to the Commission on Human Rights).
وطلب المجلس في قراره 2005/247، المعنون " تقرير الأمين العام عن عقوبة الإعدام والضمانات التي تكفل حماية حقوق الذين يواجهون عقوبة الإعدام " ، إلى الأمين العام أن يعد تقارير خمسية إضافية عن الموضوع لكي تنظر فيها اللجنة، ومجلس حقوق الإنسان (الذي خلف لجنة حقوق الإنسان) بناء على طلبه.

229. At the same meeting, the Council adopted draft decision I recommended by the Commission in chapter I, section C of its report,18 entitled " Report of the Secretary-General on capital punishment and the safeguards guaranteeing protection of the rights of those facing the death penalty " .
229- خلال الجلسة نفسها، اعتمد المجلس مشروع المقرر الأول الذي أوصت به اللجنة، الوارد في الفصل الأول، الفرع جيم من تقريرها(18)، والمعنون " تقرير الأمين العام عن عقوبة الإعدام والضمانات التي تكفل حماية حقوق الذين يواجهون عقوبة الإعدام " .

At its fourteenth session, the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, having considered the report and having heard an oral summary of the additional replies received by the Secretariat, recommended for adoption by the Economic and Social Council draft decision I, entitled " Report of the Secretary-General on capital punishment and the safeguards guaranteeing protection of those facing the death penalty. "
وبعد أن نظرت لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، في دورتها الرابعة عشرة، في ذلك التقرير واستمعت إلى موجز شفوي للردود الإضافية التي تلقتها الأمانة، أوصت المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي باعتماد مشروع المقرر الأول المعنون " تقرير الأمين العام عن عقوبة الإعدام والضمانات التي تكفل حماية حقوق الذين يواجهون عقوبة الإعدام " .(1)
