At its session in 1995, the Commission finalized and submitted to the General Assembly the draft United Nations Convention on Independent Guarantees and Stand-by Letters of Credit, the purpose of which is to eliminate uncertainties in the use of such instruments and prevent their abuse.
وقد أنجزت هذه اللجنة، في دورتها في عام ١٩٩٥، مشروع اتفاقية اﻷمم المتحدة المتعلقة بالكفالات المستقلة وخطابات الاعتماد الضامنة وعرضه على الجمعية العامة، والهدف المقصود في هذا الشأن هو القضاء على أوجه عدم اليقين في مجال استخدام هذه الصكوك والحيلولة دون إساءة استخدامها.
