29. While the European Union looked forward to the presentation of the comprehensive report on procurement governance to be submitted by the Secretary-General in May 2008, and welcomed the proposals already made for enhancing international control of procurement, improving application of the best value for money principle, reinforcing ethics standards and introducing an independent bid protest system, more remained to be done.
29 - وأضافت قائلة إنه لا يزال هناك الكثير مما يجب فعله رغم أن الاتحاد الأوروبي يتطلع إلى التقرير الشامل عن إدارة المشتريات الذي سيقدمه الأمين العام في أيار/مايو 2008، ويرحب بالمقترحات المقدمة بالفعل لتعزيز الرقابة الدولية على المشتريات، وبتحسين تطبيق مبدأ أعلى جودة بأفضل سعر، وتكريس المعايير الأخلاقية، واعتماد نظام مستقل للطعن في قرارات إرساء العطاءات.
