We do so against the backdrop of two reports of the Secretary-General: the consolidated report on progress in implementation and international support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD)(A/59/206) and the progress report on the implementation of the recommendations contained in the report of the Secretary-General on the causes of conflict and the promotion of durable peace and sustainable development in Africa (A/59/285).
