The Commission on Human Rights continued to deal with debt-related and resource issues in relation to an enabling environment and human rights (including resolutions 2001/27, on structural adjustment policies and foreign debt; 2001/9, on the right to development; 2001/25, on the right to food; 2001/30, on the realization of economic, social and cultural rights; and 2001/73, on international solidarity).

(a) In resolution 2000/82 entitled " Effects of structural adjustment policies and foreign debt on the full enjoyment of all human rights, particularly economic, social and cultural rights " , the Commission decided to merge the mandates of the independent expert on structural adjustment policies and the Special Rapporteur on the effects of foreign debt thus creating a post of an independent expert on structural adjustment and foreign debt;

74. The Bretton Woods institutions have supported greater openness, including civil society and social partners, in the policy dialogue on structural adjustment policies.
