اعتبارا من يوم الثلاثاء، 3 أيلول/سبتمبر 2002 وطوال بقية الشهر، سيعقد رئيس مجلس الأمن جلسات إعلامية غير رسمية يوميا عن الأعمال الحالية للمجلس، وذلك للدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة غير الأعضاء في مجلس الأمن، فيما عدا الأيام غير المقرر فيها إجراء مشاورات غير رسمية.
