In the present report on the follow-up to the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Declaration on the Guiding Principles of Drug Demand Reduction, prepared pursuant to General Assembly resolution 54/132, the role of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme in supporting Governments in the implementation process is reviewed, and the Commission on Narcotic Drugs is called upon to provide guidance to the follow-up activities.
هذا التقرير عن متابعة خطة العمل لتنفيذ الاعلان الخاص بالمبادئ التوجيهية لخفض الطلب على المخدرات، والذي أُعد عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٥/٢٣١، يتضمن استعراضا لدور برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات في دعم الحكومات في عملية التنفيذ. وفي هذا التقرير، تُناشد لجنة المخدرات أن تقدم التوجيه ﻷنشطة المتابعة.

At its reconvened forty-fourth session, in December 2001, the Executive Director, in his consolidated first biennial report on the implementation of the outcome of the twentieth special session of the General Assembly (E/CN.7/2001/16), reported on the follow-up to the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Declaration on the Guiding Principles of Drug Demand Reduction (Assembly resolution 54/132, annex).
في الدورة الخامسة والأربعين المستأنفة للجنة، المعقودة في كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2001، أبلغ المدير التنفيذي، في تقريره الاثناسنوي الأول المدمج المتعلق بتنفيذ نتائج الدورة الاستثنائية العشرين للجمعية العامة (E/CN.7/2001/16)، عن متابعة خطة العمل لتنفيذ الاعلان الخاص بالمبادئ التوجيهية لخفض الطلب على المخدرات (مرفق قرار الجمعية العامة 54/132).

UNDCP was commended for initiating the implementation of action plans adopted at the special session, for example, by developing programmes to support the efforts of Governments to eliminate illicit crops by the year 2008, as reflected in the report of the Executive Director on the follow-up to the Action Plan on International Cooperation on the eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and on Alternative Development (E/CN.7/1999/3).
٠٢ - وأشيد باليوندسيب لاستهلاله عملية تنفيذ المهام الجديدة المنبثقة من خطط العمل التي اعتمدت في الدورة الاستثنائية ، وذلك مثلا بصوغ برامج لدعم الحكومات في جهودها الرامية الى القضاء على المحاصيل غير المشروعة بحلول سنة ٨٠٠٢ ، مثلما يتبين من تقرير المدير التنفيذي عن متابعة خطة العمل بشأن التعاون الدولي على ابادة المحاصيل المخدرة غير المشروعة وبشأن التنمية البديلة (E/CN.7/1999/3) .

Alternative development will focus on the follow-up to the Action Plan on International Cooperation on the Eradication of Illicit Drug Crops and on Alternative Development, endorsed by the General Assembly at its twentieth special session (resolution S-20/4).
وستركز التنمية البديلة على أعمال المتابعة لخطة العمل بشأن التعاون الدولي على إبادة المحاصيل المخدرة غير المشروعة بشأن التنمية البديلة التي أقرتها الجمعية العامة في دورتها الاستثنائية العشرين )القرار دإ - ٢٠/٤(.
