The United States had recently deposited its instrument of accession to the United Nations Convention on the Limitation Period in the International Sale of Goods, as amended by the 1980 Protocol, and urged States that had not yet done so to ratify the Convention and the Protocol with a view to harmonizing rules in that area of trade law.
