He was of the view, however, that it was still premature to draw any conclusions on the Practice of States on the basis of the submissions received, and requested that the Commission reiterate its request to States.

28. The Legal Subcommittee had endorsed the recommendations of its Working Group on the Practice of States and International Organizations in Registering Space Objects; those recommendations constituted the basis for the draft resolution to be submitted on that issue.

As mentioned in paragraph 10 (c) above, at its 732nd meeting, on 3 April 2006, the Subcommittee reconvened its Working Group on the Practice of States and International Organizations in Registering Space Objects and elected Kai-Uwe Schrogl (Germany) Chairman of the Working Group.

The Committee noted that the background paper prepared by the Secretariat, entitled " Practice of States and international organizations in registering space objects " (A/AC.105/C.2/L.255 and Corr.1 and 2), had made a valuable contribution to the work under the item of the Working Group on the Practice of States in Registering Space Objects.
232- ولاحظت اللجنة أن الورقة الخلفية التي أعدتها الأمانة، بعنوان " ممارسات الدول والمنظمات الدولية في تسجيل الأجسام الفضائية " (الوثيقة A/AC.105/C.2/L.255 وCorr.1 وCorr.2)، قدّمت مساهمة قيمة في الأعمال التي يضطلع بها الفريق العامل المعني بممارسات الدول في تسجيل الأجسام الفضائية في إطار ذلك البند.

His delegation agreed with the Special Rapporteur's conclusions. It also welcomed the Commission's decision to authorize the Special Rapporteur to prepare a questionnaire on the Practice of States and international organizations in the field of reservations to treaties.
