As part of the consultation process, OHCHR hosted an open-ended consultation meeting on the relationship between climate change and human rights on 22 October 2008 in Geneva.

In its resolution 10/4 of 25 March 2009, the Council decided to hold a panel discussion on the relationship between climate change and human rights at its eleventh session in order to contribute to the realization of the goals set out in the Bali Action Plan and to invite all relevant stakeholders to participate therein.
33- قرر المجلس، في قراره 10/4 المؤرخ 25 آذار/مارس 2009، أن يعقد في دورته الحادية عشرة ندوة نقاش بشأن العلاقة بين تغير المناخ وحقوق الإنسان بغية الإسهام في تحقيق الأهداف المحددة في خطة عمل بالي، وأن يدعو جميع أصحاب المصلحة المعنيين إلى المشاركة في الندوة.

The consultation process organized by the Office in the preparation of the study offered the opportunity for indigenous organizations to submit contributions to the Office, which hosted an open-ended consultation on the relationship between climate change and human rights on 22 October 2008 in Geneva.

In that resolution the Council expressed concern that climate change posed an immediate threat to people and communities and requested OHCHR to conduct an analytical study on the relationship between climate change and human rights, taking into account the views of States and other relevant international organizations and stakeholders.
