The Secretary-General’s report on the “role of microcredit in the eradication of poverty” (A/53/223) pointed out the contribution of UNIFEM and other United Nations agencies in their efforts to increase international support for microcredit.
وأشار تقرير اﻷمين العام عن " دور الائتمانات الصغيرة في القضاء على الفقر " )322/35/A( إلى المساهمة التي يقدمها الصندوق ووكالات اﻷمم المتحدة اﻷخرى في الجهود المبذولة لزيادة الدعم الدولي المقدم للائتمانات الصغيرة.

34. As a follow-up to the first report of the Secretary-General on the role of microcredit in the eradication of poverty (A/53/223), the General Assembly once again emphasized, in its resolution 53/198, the role of microcredit as an important anti-poverty tool that promotes the generation of productive self-employment and empowers people living in poverty, especially women.
