To demonstrate its commitment to the implementation of the outcome of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly, six national mechanisms for the advancement of women had been established.

21. At the 10th meeting, on 5 March 2004, the Commission held an exchange of views, under the sub-item on the question of the comprehensive review and appraisal of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly.

9 - تؤكد من جديد أيضا أن متابعة المؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة والدورة الاستثنائية الثالثة والعشرين ستتم في إطار متابعة متكاملة ومنسقة للمؤتمرات الدولية الكبرى ومؤتمرات القمة في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي وما يتصل بهما من ميادين؛

With the support of the relevant international organizations, the international community, especially developed countries, had the obligation to provide financial assistance, technical assistance and capacity-building to developing countries, in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals on schedule and fulfil the commitments made at the Fourth World Conference on Women and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly.
واختتمت بيانها بتأكيد أنه يتعين على المجتمع الدولي ولا سيما البلدان المتقدمة، بدعم من المنظمات الدولية المختصة، تقديم مساعدة مالية للبلدان النامية والتعاون معها على الصعيد التقني وتأمين حصولها على التدريب، لكي تحقق في الآجال المحددة أهداف الألفية وتفي بالالتزامات المعلنة لدى انعقاد المؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة والدورة الاستثنائية الثالثة والعشرين للجمعية العامة.

27. In the general discussion on the follow-up to the Fourth World Conference on Women and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly, emphasis is placed on goals attained, achievements, gaps and challenges in relation to implementation with regard to the priority theme.
27 - وفي إطار المناقشة العامة المتعلقة بمتابعة المؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة والدورة الاستثنائية الثالثة والعشرين للجمعية العامة، تم التركيز على ما تحقق من أهداف وعلى الإنجازات والثغرات والتحديات المرتبطة بالتنفيذ في ما يتعلّق بالموضوع ذي الأولوية.

35. The efforts of the Economic and Social Council to support an integrated and coordinated follow-up to major United Nations conferences and summits could reinforce the cross-cutting nature of the outcome of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly, and ensure the full incorporation of that outcome in the follow-up activities of all organizations of the United Nations system.
35 - ويمكن للجهود التي يبذلها المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي دعم المتابعة المتكاملة والمنسقة للمؤتمرات الرئيسية ومؤتمرات القمة التي تعقدها الأمم المتحدة أن تعزز الطابع الشامل لنتائج المؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة والدورة الاستثنائية الثالثة والعشرين للجمعية العامة وأن تكفل الإدماج الكامل لتلك النتائج في أنشطة المتابعة التي تضطلع بها جميع مؤسسات منظومة الأمم المتحدة.

However, the Council's efforts to support a more integrated and coordinated follow-up could reinforce the cross-cutting nature of the recent five-year reviews, including the outcome of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly, and ensure the full incorporation of that outcome in follow-up activities of all organizations of the United Nations system (A/55/341, para. 35).
بيد أن الجهود التي يبذلها المجلس لدعم زيادة المتابعة المتكاملة والمنسقة قد تعزز الطابع الشامل لعدة قطاعات للاستعراضات الخمسية التي أجريت أخيرا، بما في ذلك نتائج المؤتمر العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة والدورة الاستثنائية الثالثة والعشرين للجمعية العامة، وتكفل الادماج الكامل لتلك النتائج في أنشطة المتابعة التي تضطلع بها جميع مؤسسات منظومة الأمم المتحدة (A/55/341، الفقرة 35).
