أما إذا كان المطلوب هو توافر أغلبية الثلثين فيتعيَّن مواصلة الاقتراع حتى يحصل أحد المرشحين على ثلثي الأصوات المدلى بها بشرط التصويت لأي عضو تتوافر فيه الشروط بعد الاقتراع الثالث غير الحاسم.

وإذا تطلب الأمر أغلبية ثلثي الأصوات، تستمر الاقتراعات حتى أن يحصل أحد المرشحين على ثلثي الأصوات المدلى بها، بشرط أن يمكن، بعد الاقتراع الثالث غير الحاسم، الإدلاء بأصوات لأي عضو مؤهّل.
