Given the critical role that ICT plays in supporting the Organization's operational and substantive programmes, the post of Chief Information Technology Officer has been established at the level of Assistant Secretary-General, reporting to the Deputy Secretary-General.

In paragraph 7, the phrase “operational and substantive” should be deleted in line with previous practice.
