The reports identified important shortcomings in the reporting process and called for new, simplified and coherent guidelines to be prepared for all the entities that are requested to report regularly to the COP, or otherwise to provide information to support the implementation of the Convention.

In order to effectively help developing States, in particular least developed States and small island developing States, to implement the Convention, we urge all States and organizations in a position to do so to make voluntary contributions, financial or otherwise, to the trust funds established under the Convention and the Agreement, as well as to the relevant fellowship and fisheries programmes.
ولمساعدة البلدان النامية بفعالية، لا سيما أقل البلدان نمواً والدول النامية الجزرية الصغيرة النامية، على تنفيذ الاتفاقية، نحث جميع الدول والمنظمات، التي بوسعها تقديم تبرعات مالية أو غير مالية إلى صندوق الاستئمان الذي أنشئ بموجب الاتفاقية والاتفاق، وإلى برامج منح الزمالات ذات الصلة وبرامج مصائد الأسماك أيضاً، أن تفعل ذلك.

Following decision 8/COP.8 on improving the procedures for the communication of information, as well as the quality and format of reports to be submitted to the Conference of the Parties (COP), the secretariat identified and elaborated reporting principles for those entities that are requested to report regularly to the COP, or otherwise to provide information, on support to the implementation of the Convention.
عقب اعتماد المقرَّر 8/م أ-8 المتعلق بتحسين إجراءات تبليغ المعلومات ونوعية وشكل التقارير المقدَّمة إلى مؤتمر الأطراف، عمدت الأمانة إلى تحديد وإعداد مبادئ بشأن الإبلاغ خاصة بالكيانات المطلوب منها تقديم تقارير منتظمة، أو غير ذلك من صور توفير المعلومات، إلى مؤتمر الأطراف بشأن دعم تنفيذ الاتفاقية.

They are also obliged to facilitate humanitarian and military demining efforts by providing detailed maps and other relevant information on those mines that have already been laid by them and by contributing financially or otherwise to their removal.
