7.4 The Committee recalls that the State party has a duty not only to carry out thorough investigations of alleged violations of human rights, particularly enforced disappearances or violations of the right to life, brought to the attention of its authorities, but also to prosecute, try and punish anyone held to be responsible for such violations.
7-4 وتذكر اللجنة بأن الدولة الطرف ليست ملزمة بإجراء تحقيقات شاملة في انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان المزعومة المبلغ عنها إلى السلطات فحسب، بل هي ملزمة أيضاً بمقاضاة كل من يشتبه في ضلوعه في تلك الانتهاكات ومحاكمته ومعاقبته، ولا سيما في حالات الاختفاء القسري والاعتداء على الحق في الحياة().
