His Excellency, Mr. Osman Mohammed Osman, Egypt's Minister of Planning and Local Development, emphasized the importance of anchoring the MDGs in national development strategies and accelerating growth to reduce poverty and achieve the MDGs.
وأكد سعادة وزير التخطيط والتنمية المحلية المصري، السيد عثمان محمد عثمان، على أهمية إدراج الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية في الاستراتيجيات الإنمائية الوطنية، والتعجيل بعملية النمو بغرض الحد من الفقر وتحقيق الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية.

At a meeting with the First Vice-President, Ali Osman Mohammed Taha, held in Khartoum on 10 November 2004, the Commission asked to review the records of the various Government agencies in Darfur concerning decisions relating to the use of armed force against rebels and measures concerning the civilian population.
فقد طلبت اللجنة، في اجتماع عقدته مع النائب الأول لرئيس الجمهورية، علي عثمان محمد طه، في الخرطوم، في 10 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2004، أن تستعرض سجلات الوكالات الحكومية في دارفور، فيما يتعلق بالقرارات ذات الصلة باستخدام القوات المسلحة ضد المتمردين، وبالتدابير المتعلقة بالسكان المدنيين.

Particular thanks go to the Vice-President, Ali Osman Mohammed Taha, the ministers met and the Rapporteur of the Advisory Council for Human Rights, as well as to the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Khartoum, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, UNICEF, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Operation Lifeline Sudan (OLS), and all those who contributed to a successful visit.
