Further, it is to be noted that this clause is immediately followed by the statement that " [e]very State shall refrain from any action aimed at the partial or total disruption of the national unity and territorial integrity of any other State or country " .

- The two States Parties shall refrain from threats or the use of force aimed at the violation of the common existing frontier, in accordance with the purpose and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, and agree that neither of them will assert or support claims to any part of the territory of the other State or claims for a change of the present frontier.
