The meeting was held back to back with the hands-on training workshop for the Asia and Pacific region on mitigation assessment, which took place from 27 February to 2 March 2012 at the same location.

3. Perspectives of administering Powers and representatives of Territories in the Pacific region on their present status and the completion of the decolonization process in those Territories.

The immediate objective of the meetings was to obtain the views of young people in the Asia and Pacific region on health needs and to facilitate a dialogue between youth representatives, Governments and the United Nations system at the regional level as a basis for promoting youth participation in the formulation and implementation of integrated youth health policies and programmes.
وكان الهدف الأولي من الاجتماع الاطلاع على وجهات نظر الشباب في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ بشأن الاحتياجات الصحية، وتيسير الحوار بين ممثلي الشباب، والحكومات ومنظومة الأمم المتحدة على الصعيد الإقليمي، وذلك كأساس لتعزيز مشاركة الشباب في وضع سياسات وبرامج صحية متكاملة للشباب وتنفيذها.

In this connection, the workshop noted the proposal that subsequent workshops be called: " United Nations Forum for the Asian and Pacific region on Human Rights Issues " .
وفي هذا الصدد أحاطت حلقة التدارس علما باقتراح تسمية حلقات التدارس القادمة " محفل اﻷمم المتحدة لمنطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ بشأن قضايا حقوق اﻹنسان " .

9. The Centre is in the process of planning a training programme for armed forces in the Asian and Pacific region on their role in the protection and promotion of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

The Government's Counter Terrorism Officials Group (CTOG), which comprises Government representatives of all relevant stakeholders of the UNSCR 1540, has had numerous consultations with the UNODC, the UNSCR 1540 experts and representatives from the Pacific region on the issue.
