8. In her statement, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children stated that, to date, children of parents sentenced to the death penalty had been invisible in statistics, and in policies and programmes.

34. In its resolution 22/11, the Council decided to convene, at its twenty-fourth session, a panel discussion on the human rights of children of parents sentenced to the death penalty or executed, and requested the OHCHR to prepare a report on the outcome of the panel discussion in the form of a summary, and to present it to the Council at its twenty-fifth session.
34- وقرر المجلس، في قراره 22/11، عقد حلقة نقاش في دورته الرابعة والعشرين بشأن حقوق الإنسان لأطفال المحكوم عليهم بالإعدام أو المنفَّذ فيهم حكم الإعدام، وطلب إلى المفوضية أن تُعدّ تقريراً عن نتائج حلقة النقاش في شكل موجز، وأن تقدمه إلى المجلس في دورته الخامسة والعشرين.

The report also discusses the continued difficulties in gaining access to reliable information regarding executions, and issues related to the human rights of children of parents sentenced to the death penalty or executed.
