Noting with appreciation the participation of the United Nations Environment Programme in the United Nations-led early recovery rapid needs assessment mission carried out from 25 January to 4 February 2009,

Supports the continued participation of the United Nations Environment Programme in the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network, to promote the conservation and sustainable use of coral reef ecosystems, in particular in the light of recent scientific findings which indicate that 60 per cent of the world's coral reefs could be lost by 2030;
