As we look ahead, we should continue to promote universal ratification and implementation of relevant international legal instruments, in particular the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the Protocols thereto, the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the universal legal instruments against terrorism, in addition to the relevant international human rights conventions.

The Committee congratulates the State party for its ratification of various international instruments, in particular the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and both its Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children and its Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air on 15 September 2005.
