The resolution reflected the requirement of UNCLOS that coastal States submit particulars of such limits to the Commission " within ten years of the entry into force of [the] Convention for that State " (UNCLOS, annex II, article 4).

51. The Chairman noted that the second category of issues related to the interpretation of the term " a coastal State " and " a State " in light of article 4 of annex II to the Convention, which provides that " where a coastal State intends to establish, in accordance with article 76, the outer limits of its continental shelf, it shall submit particulars of such limits to the Commission along with supporting scientific and technical data " .
٥١ - ولاحــظ رئيس اللجنة أن الطائفة الثانية من المسائل تتصل بتفسير مصطلحي " الدولة الساحلية " و " الدولة " في ضوء المادة ٤ من المرفق الثاني من الاتفاقية التي تنص على أنه " حين تنوي دولة ساحلية أن تعين وفقا للمادة ٧٦ الحدود الخارجية لجرفها القاري، عليها أن تقدم تفاصيل هذه الحدود إلى اللجنة مع البيانات العلمية والتقنية الداعمة " .
