The Conference of the States Parties to the Convention at its tenth session, held last year, acknowledged the significant results achieved by States parties in implementing their obligations.

Following the decisions made by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention at its first session from 6 to 17 February 2006, the Task Force recommends:
وعقب القرارات التي اتخذها مؤتمر الأطراف في الاتفاقية في دورته الأولى المعقودة في الفترة من 6 إلى 17 شباط/فبراير 2006، توصي فرقة العمل بما يلي:

1. Note the decisions adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention at its seventh session, held in Marrakesh, constituting the Marrakesh Accords, which pave the way for the timely entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol;

Paragraph 8, which has been amended from the previous year, requests the Secretary-General to undertake the preparations necessary to convene the Fifth Meeting of States Parties to the Convention at Bangkok from 15 to 19 September 2003.

PP.1 Recalling the Bali Action Plan adopted by decision 1/CP.13 of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention at its thirteenth session, and the need for long-term cooperative action among all Parties to enable the full and sustained implementation of the Convention now, up to and beyond 2012, in order to achieve its ultimate objective.

The head of the Convention Secretariat shall dispatch the estimates, as well as the actual income and expenditure for each year of the previous biennium, to all Parties to the Convention at least ninety days before the opening of the meeting of the Conference of the Parties at which the budget is to be adopted.
ويقوم رئيس أمانة الاتفاقية بإرسال التقديرات، وكذلك الإيرادات والمصروفات الواقعية عن كل سنة من فترة السنتين الماضية، إلى جميع الأطراف في الاتفاقية في موعد غايته تسعون يوماً على الأقل قبل افتتاح اجتماع مؤتمر الأطراف الذي ستُعتمد الميزانية أثناءه.

" 6. Welcomes the decision of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention at its seventh session to conclude with the Council of the Global Environment Facility a memorandum of understanding on enhanced collaboration between the Convention and the Facility;

8. Takes note of decision 1/CP.18 of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention at its eighteenth session,
8 - تحيط علما بالمقرر 1/م أ - 18 الذي اتخذه مؤتمر الأطراف في الاتفاقية في دورته الثامنة عشرة(

He appealed to those countries which had not yet done so, particularly the States members of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the countries of Eastern and Central Europe, to become Parties to the Convention at the earliest possible date.
وناشد البلدان التي لم تقم بذلك، خصوصا الدول اﻷعضاء في منظمة التعاون والتنمية في الميدان الاقتصادي، وبلدان شرق ووسط أوروبا، أن تصبح أطرافا في الاتفاقية في أسرع وقت ممكن.

23. In accordance with the decisions taken by the Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention in 2005 (CCW/MSP/2005/2), the Group of Governmental Experts devoted time for the consideration of the preparation for the 2006 Third Review Conference of the States Parties to the Convention at the plenary meetings on 28 August, 4 and 6 September 2006.
23- ووفقاً للقرارات التي اتخذها اجتماع الدول الأطراف في الاتفاقية في عام 2005 (CCW/MSP/2005/2)، خصص فريق الخبراء الحكوميين بعض الوقت للنظر في الأعمال التحضيرية للمؤتمر الاستعراضي الثالث للدول الأطراف في الاتفاقية وذلك في جلسات عامة عُقِدت في 28 آب/أغسطس و4 و6 أيلول/سبتمبر 2006.
