ويُفقَد الحق في الاستحقاق بوجه عام إذا لم يقم المستفيد بتقديم المعلومات المتعلقة بالدفع أو أنه لم يقم بقبول الدفع أو رفضه، وذلك لمدة سنتين (بالنسبة لتسوية الانسحاب أو تسويـــة المبالغ المتبقيـــة) أو لمدة خمس سنوات (بالنسبة لاستحقاقات التقاعد، أو استحقاقات التقاعد المبكر، أو استحقاقات التقاعد المؤجلة، أو استحقاقات العجز) بعد موعد استحقاق الدفع.
