In the past year, UN-Women also provided substantive inputs to the reports of the Secretary-General on peacebuilding in the aftermath of conflict (A/67/499-S/2012/746) and strengthening the role of mediation in the peaceful settlement of disputes, conflict prevention and resolution (A/66/811) and inputs for field missions of the Security Council.

The Security Council requested that specific information should be included on the situation of women in country-specific and thematic briefings and reports by the Secretary-General, including in resolutions on Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali and the Sudan, and in its presidential statement on peacebuilding in the aftermath of conflict.
