11. States should provide more education for People of African Descent on the ways in which they can become victims of discrimination and raise the awareness of the general public about these issues, in order to ensure better protection and defence of the human rights of people of African descent.

(i) Use the Decade as an opportunity to engage with People of African Descent on appropriate and effective measures to halt and reverse the lasting consequences of slavery, the slave trade and the transatlantic slave trade in captured African people and, to this end, ensure the participation of and consultation with non-governmental organizations, other stakeholders and civil society at large;

31. Take resolute action to counter any tendency to target, stigmatize, stereotype or profile People of African Descent on the basis of race, by law enforcement officials, politicians and educators.
