17. With regard to benefits, FICSA supported the Commission's decision to raise the level of hazard pay for locally recruited staff to 30 per cent of the midpoint of the local staff salary scale. It should be remembered that in many places, particularly Iraq, local staff carry out the work of the organizations in conditions considered too dangerous for international staff.
17- وفيما يتعلق بالمنافع فإن الاتحاد يؤيد قرار اللجنة برفع مستوى علاوة المخاطر للموظفين المعينين محلياً إلى 30 في المائة من النقطة الوسطية لجدول رواتب الموظفين المحليين وجدير بالذكر أن الموظفين المحليين في كثير من الأماكن، وخاصة في العراق، يقومون بأعمال المنظمات في ظروف تعتبر بالغة الخطورة بالنسبة للموظفين الدوليين.

16. The annual financial implications of the Commission's decision in respect of the increase in the level of hazard pay granted to locally recruited staff from 20 to 30 per cent of the midpoint of local base salary scales (effective 1 January 2003) for the common system as a whole have been estimated in the amount of $6,900,000.
