However, the period of twelve months should be reduced to six, with the possibility for one six-month extension.
بيد أن فترة الاثني عشر شهرا ينبغي تقليلها الى ستة شهور مع امكانية تمديدها لفترة ستة شهور فقط .

The period of twelve months mentioned in paragraph 2, which is twice the period for entry into force of the Convention under article 23, is intended to give sufficient time to all concerned, both in the denouncing State and in other Contracting States, to become aware of the change in the legal regime applicable to electronic communications in that State.
أما فترة الاثني عشر شهرا المذكورة في الفقرة 2، وهي ضعف الفترة اللازمة لبدء نفاذ الاتفاقية بمقتضى المادة 23، فيقصد بها إتاحة وقت كاف لجميع المعنيين، في الدولة المنسحبة وفي سائر الدول المتعاقدة على حد سواء، لكي يصبحوا على بيّنة من التغيّر الحادث في النظام القانوني المنطبق على الخطابات الإلكترونية في تلك الدولة.

It is anticipated that, if the additional posts are approved and staff recruited, the system can be successfully installed in the remaining field missions within a period of twelve months.

In view of the above, I recommend that the Security Council consider extending the mandate of UNMIS for a further period of twelve months, until 30 April 2009.
ونظرا لما ورد أعلاه، أوصي بأن ينظر مجلس الأمن في تمديد ولاية البعثة لفترة أخرى مدتها اثنا عشر شهرا، حتى 30 نيسان/أبريل 2009.

2. The reserving State or international organization may, within a period of twelve months following the notification of an objection which has the effect referred to in paragraph 1, oppose the entry into force of the treaty between itself and the objecting State or organization.
2 - يجوز للدولة أو المنظمة الدولية المتحفظة، في غضون الاثني عشر شهرا التالية للإشعار بالاعتراض الذي يرتب الأثر المشار إليه في الفقرة 1، أن تعارض بدء نفاذ المعاهدة بينها وبين الدولة أو المنظمة المعترضة.

4. If a treaty monitoring body expresses the view that a reservation is invalid and the reserving State or international organization intends not to be bound by the treaty without the benefit of the reservation, it should express its intention to that effect within a period of twelve months from the date at which the treaty monitoring body made its assessment.
4 - إذا رأت هيئة رصد المعاهدة أن التحفظ غير صحيح وكانت الدولة المتحفظة أو المنظمة الدولية المتحفظة تعتزم عدم الالتزام بالمعاهدة بدون الاستفادة من التحفظ، ينبغي لها أن تعرب عن هذه النية في غضون الاثني عشر شهرا التالية لتاريخ إعلان هيئة رصد المعاهدة رأيها.

9. Notes with regret that a period of twelve years has elapsed since a United Nations mission visited the Territory and appeals to the administering Power to facilitate the dispatch of such a mission.
٩ - تلاحظ مع اﻷسف انقضاء إثني عشر عاما منذ أن قامت بعثة تابعة لﻷمم المتحدة بزيارة اﻹقليم وتناشد الدولة القائمة باﻹدارة أن تسهل إيفاد بعثة تابعة لﻷمم المتحدة إلى اﻹقليم.
