Accordingly, the African Group supported the Secretary-General's request for authorization to apply the termination indemnities set out under the heading " Permanent appointments " in annex III to the Staff Regulations and Rules for the specific and sole purpose of approving payments related to the retention incentive for staff of the Tribunals.

As regards the determination of the amount of the incentive, it was recommended in paragraph 10 of the report that authorization be granted to the Secretary-General to apply the termination indemnities set out under the heading " Permanent appointments " in annex III to the Staff Regulations and Rules for the specific and sole purpose of approving payments related to the retention incentive package for Tribunal staff.
