C. Prosecution of persons suspected of having committed acts of torture or ill-treatment and punishment of perpetrators
جيم- مقاضاة الأشخاص المشتبه بارتكابهم أفعال التعذيب أو سوء المعاملة ومعاقبة مرتكبيها

1. The Prosecutor shall be responsible for the conduct of the investigation and prosecution of persons suspected of having committed the offence defined in article 2.
1 - يتولى المدعي العام مسؤولية إجراء التحقيق ومقاضاة الأشخاص المتهمين بارتكاب الجريمة المحددة في المادة 2.

It shall ensure in particular that persons suspected of having committed an offence of enforced disappearance are not in a position to influence the progress of an investigation by means of pressure or acts of intimidation or reprisal aimed at the complainant, witnesses, relatives of the disappeared person or their defence counsel, or at persons participating in the investigation.
وتتأكد بوجه خاص من أنه ليس بوسع المتهمين بارتكاب جريمة الاختفاء القسري التأثير على مجرى التحقيق بممارسة ضغوط أو بتنفيذ أعمال ترهيب أو انتقام على الشاكي أو الشهود أو أقارب الشخص المختفي والمدافعين عنهم فضلاً عن المشتركين في التحقيق.
