Also at its twenty-seventh session, the Committee decided to establish a pre-sessional working group of three to five members to assist the plenary in its work under article 22, and designated four of its members to participate in the first working group, Mr. Burns, Mr. Camara, Mr. González Poblete and Mr. Yakovlev.

5. The membership of the Committee remained the same during the period covered by the present report with the exception of Mr. Alejandro González Poblete, who passed away in February 2003.

6. At its thirtieth session, on 28 April 2003, the Committee decided that, in order to ensure equitable geographic balance, it would defer the election of Vice-Chairman to replace Mr. González Poblete pending the assumption of duties by his successor.
6- في الدورة الثلاثين، وبتاريخ 28 نيسان/أبريل 2003، قررت اللجنة، حرصاً على ضمان توازن جغرافي عادل، أن ترجئ انتخاب نائب الرئيس ليحل محل السيد غونساليس بوبليتي في انتظار تولي خلفه مهام منصبه.

160. Finally, the Committee appointed Mr. El Masry as Rapporteur on followup to decisions adopted on merits, to replace Mr. González Poblete.
160- وأخيراً، فإن اللجنة قد عينت السيد المصري مقرراً يُعنى بمتابعة المقررات المعتمدة بشأن الأساس الموضوعي للشكاوى، ليحل محل السيد غونساليس بوبليتي.

26. Mr. Poblete (Defense Forum Foundation) said that he supported the Secretary-General's call for transparent and creative dialogue to ensure that the views of the peoples of the remaining Territories were heard.

The courts therefore had to refrain from granting amnesty in any case involving serious violations of the Geneva Conventions (S.C. 9/9/98, case of Pedro Enrique Poblete Córdova; S.C. 6/10/98, case of Marcos Quiñones Lembach).
