It is intended that the preparatory process at the national level will result in a significant improvement in national capacity to evaluate the status of settlements and shelter, to assess the impact of public and private initiatives to improve the living conditions of women, children and other socially vulnerable groups, and to implement an effective strategy for making cities, towns and villages healthy, safe, just and sustainable.
