1. The budgetary information contained in the annex to the present note is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 49/233 A of 23 December 1994, section I, paragraph 8, of which reads as follows:

The present note is submitted in response to General Assembly resolution 48/112, section IV, of 20 December 1993, in which the Assembly requested that the United Nations System-Wide Action Plan on Drug Abuse Control be reviewed and updated on a biennial basis.

The present note is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 57/319, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to provide a comprehensive report on the feasibility of consolidating the accounts of the various peacekeeping operations, including a simulation of the proposed options.

The present note is submitted in response to General Assembly resolution 49/233, part XIII, of 23 December 1994, in which the Assembly endorsed the recommendation of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions that a mock-up budget for a single peace-keeping operation be submitted by the Secretary-General to the Advisory Committee for its review and submission of its views to the General Assembly at its fiftieth session.
